Journal names Connolly Senior V.P. - Sales & Marketing

PROVIDENCE , R.I. - Scott C. Connolly, of Canton, Mass., has been named senior vice president sales & marketing at The Providence Journal Company. Connolly has overall responsibility for advertising including strategic planning and new-product development.

"Scott is an incredibly talented leader who has successfully directed our advertising sales and marketing," said Mark T. Ryan, executive vice president and general manager at The Providence Journal Company. "As a key member of the senior management team, he has also broadened his responsibilities to strategic planning and new product development."

Connolly, who joined The Providence Journal Company in 2005, previously served as vice president advertising and advertising senior sales director. Before joining the Journal, he was senior director of accounts at Cramer/Integrated Marketing Solutions Company, a national advertising account executive at The Boston Globe and an advertising sales representative at The Patriot Ledger, Quincy, Mass.

Connolly has a bachelor's of science degree in marketing/management from Northeastern University.
