Providence Journal Promotes Tomilson Vice President of Business and Interactive Development

PROVIDENCE , R.I. Deborah S. Tomilson of Quincy, Mass., has been named vice president of business and interactive development at The Providence Journal. She will oversee strategic projects designed to drive revenue and overall success of new product initiatives for the newspaper's advertising clients and consumers.

"Deb has been instrumental in advertising, marketing, research and all aspects of our digital initiatives. She now will develop and drive our overall new product strategies," said Mark T. Ryan, executive vice president and general manager of The Providence Journal Co.

Tomilson joined The Providence Journal advertising department in 2005 and has worked as both executive director and director of marketing and business development. Prior to that, she was a marketing associate for The Boston Globe and held marketing communications and accounting positions at Fidelity Investments, Boston.

Tomilson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Suffolk University.
