Mayer Named Providence Journal Managing Editor/Operations

PROVIDENCE , R.I. - Kurt Mayer of Providence has been named managing editor/operations of The Providence Journal . He will be responsible for the production editing of the daily and The Providence Sunday Journal and dayside news desk operations.

Mayer has been an editor with the Journal since 1994. Prior to that he was a reporter, photographer and editor for the Summit County (Colo.) Journal, Laconia (N.H.) Evening Citizen, Bennington (Vt.) Banner and the Nantucket (Mass.) Beacon.

He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism, with a business minor, from the University of Northern Colorado.
