Providence Journal Promotes Tomilson to Divisional Vice President
PROVIDENCE , R.I. Deborah S. Tomilson of Quincy, Mass., has been named divisional vice president of audience, business development and digital at The Providence Journal. She will oversee strategic planning with an emphasis on audience and business development. Her responsibilities include the management of the company's marketing analytics and research, branding, communications, business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing, consumer sales and consumer services. In addition, she will manage the strategy, development and operations of the website as well as the newspaper's presence on emerging digital platforms and devices.

Tomilson joined The Providence Journal advertising department in 2005 as the director of marketing and business development and was later named executive director. Her most recent role was as vice president of business and interactive development. Tomilson has worked in marketing for The Boston Globe and held marketing communications and accounting positions at Fidelity Investments, Boston.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Suffolk University.
